Joyaux des Rois Maudits

So I called it « Joyaux des rois maudits » (The Accursed Kings' jewels) because it made me think of a TV mini serie I saw when I was a kid, “Les rois maudits”, it was a made out of Maurice Druon seven historical novels about middle age French kings. It's funny because in this serie the scets and the costumes were kept minimal, like a modern theater scene, something like a throne for the king, some lights, and that's all, really the minimum for the spectator to understand the role of the characters, and what is the place where we stand. It was a 70's serie, I sawed it maybe in the late 80's but it really impressed me (there was a lot of violence lol not gore and bloody dead corpse like in an horror movie but a lot of murders, and some were kinda cruel, and some torture too – hey middle age Europe ) and even if it scared me I really liked the atmosphere of the serie. And I kinda liked the “hero” (if you can call him an hero since he would do anything to get what he wants -even kill family members-) the all dressed in red Robert D'Artois (Robert III of Artois).
Of course I re-saw it lately (brought the DVD for my parent's for xmas few years ago). This is why I remember so clearly it But I enjoyed it like when I was a kid.
Few years ago there was a new TV mini serie made out of the same novels, actually it was probably better made, with great costumes and scenery, but of course for me there is only one and only “Accursed Kings” and it's the one I saw when I was a kid. Even if the queen's crown were looking like king's cake paper crown...
