WAFUWAFU ワフワフ
OK so this one is more like a joke ^^
Actually in Japanese fuwafuwa means light, soft, spongy, it can be used too for fluffy hair etc. By extension it can be used to describe jellyfishes ^^ like in this case. I wanted to go to Sunshine City Aquarium because I read about the ふわふわの世界 (fuwafuwa no sekai – fuwafuwa's world) section on their website. I was not disappointed, they have a huge collection of various jellies.
But funny thing is... well I never really learned the word fuwafuwa (it's quite a recent word with really large meanings) and mostly heard in on TV shows or read it in magazines. So when I tried using it I made this silly (but probably hilarious) mistake by switching the 2 syllables: wafuwafu -_-
which means absolutely nothing
My friend was always trying to help me and was always telling me when I was saying something wrong or when I was using a word not in the exactly correct way but in this case, I think he was thinking that was absolutely cute because he hasn't told anything before we actually went in Sunshine City. I was blushing till the ears! And he was like no it's cute, it's Sophie-go, (go 語 means language, like in nihongo, furansugo etc.) so we tried to imagine what could be wafuwafu, and since in Japanese waffles is waffuru ワッフル from the English) we imagine something like a fish tank filled with floating waffles XD
I draw it the day after but only finished it on my computer after I went back to France ^^
On top: nihongo: fuwafuwa no sekai (japanese: world of soft creatures) on bottom: sophie-go: wafuwafu no sekai (sophie's language: world of … waffles) ha ha
It's a really good memory and now you can be sure I never do the wafuwafu mistake again!
(and if you had the patience / interest to read all my prose you learned some Japanese )
